Day 2 - In Country...

We had an awesome first day here in Thailand... We celebrated the Fourth at a local house, the second time I've celebrated the holiday in that house. Lunch was burgers and dogs and I got my rear whipped at a game of Trouble...

After that we went for our first distro - only to discover there weren't any tourists coming to that venue that night... A bit disappointing but it did allow us to get to know a couple of the local expats (expats: short for Ex-patriots or foreigner living in country) a bit better.

It's a rough time for tourism all over, so the lack of tourists wasn't unexpected, just a bit disappointing. However, God has us here for a reason and we've just got to be open to finding out what that purpose is...

I believe everyone's feeling better, Marti's stomach is still doing a slow whirl but only when she eats something. Everyone else is fine...

Today finds us going to church and then taking a Buddhist temple tour. Get to see some of the Terracotta soldiers which should be pretty cool.

Hope everyone's well and until then!

God Bless!

Arrival...

So we've arrived safely. It was a bumpy flight and ride down here so please pray for Desiree - she got motion sick on the last leg of the flight... Amazing what the enemy will use to distract you...

So Thailand is a beautiful as I recall - from what I could tell from the midnight run down here in a Toyota van... Our hotel is nice, about a block or so from the beach. We're getting ready for breakfast - something that's always an adventure in a foreign land.

Michele says she has the gift of missions because she can sleep anywhere, anytime... On this trip that's great - however the gift of the cast iron stomach is just as important here... Thank you God for giving me that particular gift!

Prayer needs -
No more nausea for anyone
That we adjust well to the 11 hour time difference
That we continue to mesh well as a team.

The most important prayer need is simple: that the hearts of the tourists we've been sent to give gifts to would be open to receiving the gifts we've got for them
Pray they'd also be open to receiving the greatest gift anyone has ever given to them!

Love ya all!

Day 1 - Travel

So far, so good. A quick jaunt down to ATL via TYS and now we're waiting on our rather large bird to start loading.

So far the team is gelling quite well - We're friends outside of this trip so that always helps...

Personally everything is going quite well. I'm feeling good, quiet time is steadily getting better and I'm excite to be returning to a country I love... Now if we could do something about the flight time there. I've been blessed to be able to take a lot of personal entertainment material with me so boredom won't be an issue. Just the stress of sitting next to several hundred of your closest friends for 12-14 hours at a time. If I had the cash I'd seriously consider getting a G5... Now that's the way to travel!

ATL has some of the strangest commercials I've seen... 'Your trash is lonely'... Really now. I wasn't aware that the inanimate hunk of plastic had feelings... I suppose those bottles rattling about the trash can at the house feel great because they've got friends. What happens if they get into an argument? It's not like they can go anywhere to cool off...

A side note – please pray for Tim and Marti's eldest – he appears to be coming down with strep which puts stress on both of them because they want to be there but can't. It's definitely stress they don't need as well as a distraction. Pray the evil one would loose his hold on them while we're out of the country doing work for Him who gave it all to save us from the wages of sin...

Love you all and God Bless!
